Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized accountant to handle the daily bookkeeping and general accounting functions. This role is critical for ensuring accurate data entry, maintaining financial records, and supporting the smooth operation of accounting processes. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in bookkeeping, journal entries, and financial reporting, playing a key role in maintaining precise financial records that drive informed decision-making and support the company’s financial management.
As the Accountant, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the financial operations of the company. A deep understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and the ability to handle multiple financial tasks are essential. You will ensure that the company’s financial records are accurate, compliant with regulatory standards, and provide valuable insights to enhance business growth and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
•Perform daily bookkeeping tasks, including recording all financial transactions such as sales, purchases, and expenses.
•Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring that all transactions are accurately classified.
•Process journal entries for month-end closing, accruals, and adjustments.
•Manage the chart of accounts, ensuring that all entries are categorized appropriately.
•Ensure that all supporting documentation (receipts, invoices, etc.) is properly filed and organized for easy retrieval.
•Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
•Reconcile bank statements, accounts receivable, and accounts payable ledgers.
•Prepare reports detailing expenses for management review.
•Assist in preparing schedules and supporting documentation for internal and external audits. Ensure all entries are properly documented to meet audit standards.
•Support payroll processing by preparing reports and providing the necessary data for payroll calculations.
•Assist in the preparation of tax returns, ensuring that all necessary data is available and accurate.
Skills and Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
•4-6 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on bookkeeping and general accounting tasks.
•Proficiency in accounting software like Tally and MS Office, especially Excel.
•Ability to work independently, efficiently and as part of a team.
•Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve discrepancies in financial data.
